Generally, radar, VHF, GPS, GMDSS, echo sounder, etc. are to be checked and overhauled where necessary.
When undergoing the overhaul, the technician should be assisted by a crew member, and the procedure must strictly comply with the Manual; and the notice of the ai^being overhauledyis to be posted.

Before the rigging maintenance, count and check all the riggings and arrange them out on deck. Get
ready the tools accordingly.
Grease, measure, clean or renew the riggings, if necessary. Upon completion of maintenance put them

in place and test after reassembling and replacing them welly Records are to be kept as well.
Protective work is to be done, such as putting on the glove&protective suits, helmet, goggles, etc.
